Serving as a sponsor of local Relay For Life events provides a great opportunity for CEC to demonstrate its commitment to community. The co-op not only provides financial support to this worthy cause, but many CEC employees volunteer each year to organize a Relay team and participate in the event. In 2016, CEC employees raised approximately $10,700 to help support the vital efforts of the American Cancer Society.
The Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fund-raising activity. During the Relay, team members take turns walking around a track. Anyone who wants to attend the Relay and help celebrate survivorship can take part in fun-filled activities and share the spirit of uniting in the war against cancer. Money raised from the event benefits valuable cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services.
